I'm not sure how you could end up disabled, but....I suppose if you
want to worry about crazy things, go ahead. Yeah, in the US you might
get some money after spending years on lawyers and trials...or you
might not. You probably wouldn't have any recourse in Mexico.
However, the risks are VERY small, and if any doc accidentally cuts
your aorta or something crazy like that, you're dead either place, and
you don't need to worry then. You can curse him from heaven.
(Hmmm....does cursing go on in heaven?....naaahhhh, you'll be happy to
be there, not somewhere hotter)
Finally, most of the Mexican surgeons are more experienced than most
of the American surgeons, and most of them are practicing in hospitals
that are as good or better than most US ones.
Worry is natural, but I wouldn't sweat the one in a million chances of
a big problem. You've got more risk driving to work every day.
